Running

Posted on Jul 5th, 2007 by Truth : Seeking the Truth Truth
The world seem to be "running" these days....

Running after money (material things), sex or fame....

Or a combination of the above....

Everlasting happiness, though, remains elusive.

The longer the run, the farther it seems true happiness is....

Oh seeker, is there any end to this run?

Dare to run for something else....

On a path that is very lightly travelled these days....

Dare to help those whom nobody is willing to help....

Not for anything in return but because they are Lord's creatures too....

Dare to run even beyond what earlier such unique runners have gone....

Dare to run such a run as has never been run before ....

Living longer

Posted on Apr 21st, 2007 by Truth : Seeking the Truth Truth

Lately there's been a lot of discussion in health related circles about the secret to living longer.

There have been numerous reasons for long lives discussed by doctors, health experts, athletes and similar people - amongst them genetics, nutrition, lifestyle, quality of life, stress and exercise.

Could there be a deeper reason than the above? What if there was and you were to find it? Is it really going to benefit you by living longer even if you remained healthy for a long time?

Wealth

Posted on Apr 21st, 2007 by Truth : Seeking the Truth Truth
You spend all your life earning a lot of wealth. Time comes when it's time to leave the physical body. You know it's not possible to take a single penny with you, leave alone all the wealth. Or is it (possible)? What if there was a way?

Emotions in the state of equanimity

Posted on Oct 15th, 2006 by Truth : Seeking the Truth Truth
In the state of true equanimity... a test for all spiritual seekers... what do the few who have reached this state do?

Show anger when they need to without being angry from inside...

Laugh when they need to without it affecting them from inside...

Show sadness on the face when the situation demands without being sad from inside...

Appear to be surrounded by material possessions and people of the opposite sex without being touched by them...

The Reluctant Masters

Posted on Oct 1st, 2006 by Truth : Seeking the Truth Truth
What if you meet a stranger and he tells you: "Come, follow me!"

What if some strange knock wakes you up in the middle of the night and tells you: "You have wasted your life following your master".

What if one day you find that after 10 years of sadhana you are still where you started from?

This is possible. This can happen to anyone seriously seeking "That" by which everything gets known. Such moments of revelation can disillusion the seeker. These very moments can also lead the seeker to the True Master. Such masters are rare and their work is usually done in silence and in secret.

They are the reluctant masters. Reluctant because they don't have a choice. Not a word will they speak nor move an inch of their own accord. Yet they seem to control the fate of those who are seen around them.

They are not here to transform people or society; nor is their purpose to improve mankind. These masters do not perform miracles or heal people. Yet miracles happen, healing takes place, people get transformed and mankind benefits by their presence. But they deny changes and refuse to take credit for them. According to them, all this is part of God's leela (play) and all that has to happen has already happened!

The only freedom you have is to drop your ego and get in touch with the source. The source that is inside you, pulsating with the rhythm of this very existence. That is the only freedom you have. Everything else is an illusion. Only a real master can lead you to the path that crosses all barriers of illusions.

Such masters may be rare and reluctant, but they are always waiting for you.

You may receive a message, an address or a personal visit from these masters. They could be dressed like ordinary people, living ordinary lives. They could be from any profession: from cobbler, chef, gardener, driver to an accountant, or CEO of a corporate house. No job is good or bad for them. It does not really matter. What matters is the Divine.

The first meeting with any such master will be the moment of truth - and death for the seeker. Truth of the seeker and the master, and death of the past and the future.

What transpires between the reluctant master and the seeker will be only 'now', in the present moment. Every moment their relationship will happen. Every moment they will communicate and pierce the hearts of the seekers of the Divine. The seeker will die every moment and live every moment.

However, the heart that is pierced is not the physical heart. That is just an organ of the body.

What keeps man alive?

What force pumps the blood?

What makes the physical body and the heart pulsate to a certain rhythm?

How does one breathe?

Where does the vital force originate and where does it end?

Where is the life force stored and how does it get revitalised?

The answer lies in the lotus of the (principal) heart. Only a competent master, from the lineage of the most secretly guarded ancient tradition of initiation, is permitted to reveal it to the 'chosen few' seekers directly under the supervison of the Divine.

These masters can never be sought in crowds. Nor will they have an army of disciples. They will be waiting somewhere for their chosen disciples: in remote huts in a jungle or in somebody's house. There will be no dazzling display of personality or oratorial skills. They will sit quietly. But one look from them is enough to seduce you to the Divine. Such masters could take you by your hand in your full wakefulness, in your own physical body, to other realms of existence.

Such masters exist. Not only in India but throughout the world. But there are only a few hundred of them at any given time on earth. They remain unknown to the world. Only their closest disciples know about them.

If you meet such a master, let him catch you. Allow him to take you wherever he can.

But how would you know? Only he will know whether you are ready. Only he can extend his hand. You only need to be available.

Without such masters, no meditation can help. At the most, it would make you a little relaxed, and enhance your talents. A businessman would become a refined businessman. A poet would write with more clarity. And so on.

Unless a competent master burns all old sanskaras (impressions in the mind) cleansing out the grossness, your anger, greed, lust and ambition, which remain hidden, may surface at a moment of crisis. There are so many schools of meditation, so many teachers and so many masters. But look at their disciples. They are the same!

If you want enlightenment, pray sincerely to God, and the real master will arrive. And when he arrives, you will know.

Love for mountains?

Posted on Aug 23rd, 2006 by Truth : Seeking the Truth Truth
Since birth, the seeker has had a fascination with mountains and any source of water like lakes, rivers, seas and oceans (guess it's got something to do with some actions of the past lives). However, his love for mountains far exceeds that of water. The seeker can just look at them for hours and admire their beauty. He can hike in them for hours and stay in them for days without getting bored.

Still, their beauty is (also) temporary. Their beauty is also an illusion like all the material things in this world. Even though the seeker likes them so much, he is sure if he stays long enough in some beautiful mountain resort in solitude (the way he likes it), he would sooner or later get bored of them. They would become a part of his daily life and therefore, would not attract him as they do now.

The seeker yearns for the only thing in the world that is permanent. When he gets that, he will never get bored since that will not be an illusion. That will be the real thing.

Who is really mine?

Posted on Aug 22nd, 2006 by Truth : Seeking the Truth Truth
If you think about it, how many people can you count on when you really need them? I seriously mean "really". Yes, really! What's your answer? 25, 15, 10, 5, 3, 2, or 1? If it's any of these, think again. Ask these questions to your Self. Do I really think they will and can help me when it really matters? Can they really help even if they sincerely desire to do so? Can they take my stomach ache and bear it themselves even if they want to? Can they prevent me from getting into an accident when they are not around? Can I count on them to save me from the results of my sins?

How many are left now?

Now that you know the answer, who and / or what do you think can really help you?

Gems

Posted on Aug 19th, 2006 by Truth : Seeking the Truth Truth
Pls do not take this post literally...

When the time of real need came
I have seen so called near and dear ones
Show their real ugly face
When the time of real need came
I have seen so called near and dear ones
Perform the well known disappearing act

When the time of real need came
I received help from total strangers
Ones who I thought I didn't know
When the time of real need came
Total strangers came into my life
And shared with me the Light
That guided the rest of my life

So who is really mine
I often used to wonder
The answer is clear to me now
Not the so called near ones
But the ones who really helped me
In my time of need

So why should I care any more
For these so called near ones
Why should I go to great lengths
To please these people
Why should I bear them any more

So here I walk away
Let them live without me
Since anyway they don't need me
They need my stuff more than me
I come to You O Lord
For You are the One
Who send these gems to me

...

Unconditional love?

Posted on Aug 16th, 2006 by Truth : Seeking the Truth Truth
Seeker often wonders
What is unconditional love
Is there anyone who really practices it
Everyone comes to Him for a purpose

Some come to Him for wealth
Others come to Him for health
Some come to Him for being blessed with children
Others come to Him for blessing their children
Some come to Him with extreme despair
Others come to Him with much fanfare

Some come to Him
Seeking nirvana
Others come to Him
Seeking Heavens
Some come to Him
Wishing to wash away their sins
Others come to Him
To fill their lives with bliss

Seeker thinks
Seeker doesn't need any of the above
Seeker wants to do away
With any motive to be near Him
Seeker doesn't wish for any heaven
Nor wants to hope for salvation

Seeker wants to be come to Him
For the sake of coming
Seeker doesn't want to
Worry about the end result
Seeker wants to be near Him
All the time
Even when far away from Him

Seeker wants to wish
For only His True Love

Without any condition
In between
Seeker wants such
Purity in this relationship
That he cannot stand anyone
Else in between

Reminders

Posted on Aug 10th, 2006 by Truth : Seeking the Truth Truth
The seeker just received the news that the President of one the previous companies he had worked for passed away suddenly. He was still kind of young, in his fifties... went for a routine check up to the doctor... the doctor noticed irregular heart beats and recommended immediate surgery... but the President died of cardiac arrest...

A seemingly healthy extremely well-to-do person enjoying the best of what this "material" world has to offer, suddenly, before anyone can realize it... is no more there...

Last year, around the same time, seeker's ex-boss had gotten shot 2-3 times in his abdomen by gangsters... while on a assignment to Central Africa... apparently the assignment was pretty lucrative in financial terms... he survived and is likely back at it again...

The seeker thinks... what is gained by toiling so hard to earn lots of money... when even this much money is of no use when death appears near?

Of course, one has to provide the best possible for the family... but where does one draw the line???

The seeker wants to "scale down"... work-wise and devote more time to the things his heart really wants to do...

The seeker wants to "scale down"... but he's being offered to "scale up"! His company wants him to take on the job of his ex-boss... who left recently...

The seeker doesn't want to take it... from his heart...

The seeker thinks... what's the use of a few grand more...

The seeker thinks... all these are kind of "reminders" to Him... he wants to pay attention to them... as he thinks every now and then... the Lord is telling him something...
