The treasure that can't be looted
A few months ago
The house in which seeker
Used to live got ransacked
The prime target being
The room in which seeker
Grew up learning
The true meaning of life
They informed the seeker
Your room got despoiled
Your treasures were looted
We are very upset
We are very shocked
How do you feel
Seeker kept quiet
No emotions to show at all
Seeker thought what treasures
Could the thieves have taken
For the real treasure
Is inside his heart
A treasure nobody can steal
A treasure nobody can destroy
A treasure that once sown
Remains forever
They can kill the body
That carries this treasure
But they can't still take
Away this secret treasure
The rest of the stuff
Was useless anyway
If not today it would have
Been destroyed tomorrow
The stuff we waste all the
Precious time of our lives on
What's the use when
It doesn't take long
For it to be gone?
A side note - maybe this is not practical in today's world, but is still worth considering as moving towards one day:
a house should be one in which the thief comes, enjoys, sits for some time and then goes away without the owner having to worry what "stuff" the thief took with him. It should be one which we don't have to worry about when we are far away from it physically. How many of us, myself first, have such a house?

Help

interesting… I was just speaking with my daughters about having just such a house… we just returned from vacation and I left the house with the windows open so it would stay cool for my cats… on our way home we talked about what if a theif broke into our home, how disappointed they would be - books, a computer, a television in my bedroom… I'm not much of a collector of things - and they would find very little of interest to steal…
Also, while on vacation, I had found that a child that we were visiting, that used to visit my home as if it were her own home had stolen a pearl and diamond ring from me… and other pieces of jewelry that were of no value. I sat with that ring yesterday morning for a long time… wondering if I should “steal” it back… and in the end, left it on her bedside table, in her bedroom, where I had slept while I had visited their home. I had no need for the ring… and no need to steal it back…
The way I see it…and have commented to others many times before, if anyone comes into my house, sees something they want and takes it with them….GOOD! That is one less thing (or two!) that I have to dust, clean, repair, insure….
