Seven Stages of Spirituality

All sincere spiritual seekers pass through seven stages... from seeking to enlightenment. The first stage is wishing (desiring) and searching with an honest heart a way to the Lord. The last stage is attaining enlightenment and merging back with Him.
The first three can be crossed in one lifetime... after that it becomes much slower...It can take several lifetimes to cross these later stages... varying from one seeker to the next... there is nothing such as instant enlightenment...
The first six stages are the steps while the seventh is the conclusion or the goal.

Are you able to share what these steps look like? What are the 'symptoms' so to speak of each stage?
I believe we are all on a path of enlightenment whether we are aware of it or not. Maybe those people would be in the 8th step. :) Or maybe that is the 7th step…people are seeking but they may not know what they are looking for yet. (sorry, just thinking out loud!)
Or would that be the first step? Oh now I've gone and confused myself!
Do you think that once we achieve an enlightened state then we can just rest and enjoy it because we have made it and there is nothing more to do? Can you be enlightened and still be in the body, or do you die upon enlightenment to merge with source?
Just curious about what others think! :)
Well, the first step is when a person really starts to develop the spiritual thirst for knowing the real meaning or purpose of life… and starts searching for the answers… and the seventh is the goal… enlightenment … six steps and the seventh one being the destination… the five steps in between move one closer to the goal… only someOne who is probably in the last step or so could tell about which step someone else is in… obviously I can't :)
Once enlightened… there is nothing more to be obtained… it is something by knowing which nothing remains to be known… (that can be known)… Yes, in the final lifetime, you can be enlightened and still be in the human body, but when you finally “die” in this last lifetime, then you will never be in a human body (unless you want to)… as Enlightened souls are not “born” again…
